An unexpected day off in the middle of the year can be annoying to some and amazing
to others. Some people find the snow days stressful because they would rather not get thrown
off schedule, while other people find snow days fun and stress-free.
Now, we have something called alternate methods of instruction (AMI) days, two of
which were used Jan. 6 and 7. This year, snow days 1-4 are AMI and require students to do
assignments, and snow days 5+ would have to be made up at the end of the school year.
Everyone has their own diverse opinion that makes AMI either easy for them or extremely
stressful for them.
“I think that the AMI days are fine, but we should have some free snow days too, which
we don’t have,” freshman Daelynn Stamer said.
While some people wish that there were more free snow days, some people don’t mind
doing work over snow days even though it can be stressful.
“It’s a life saver for when we’re out on snow days, but it can be stressful at times,”
sophomore Olivia Damschroder said.
Some people can’t stand AMI days, and they just want time away from their computer
and would much rather enjoy the snow while it’s still there.
“They are terrible and ruin the fun of a snow day,” junior Vince Holloman said.
While some people have a firm opinion about snow days, some people are caught in the
middle of liking or disliking AMI days.
“I like them, but I don’t because I don’t want to do school work, but I don’t want to make
up days,” senior Kyle Wright said.
