“Twisters” was such a good family movie and I would definitely watch it again. It is everything you would expect out of a good movie: fantastic acting from charming Glen Powell and stunning Daisy Edgar-Jones, heart-wrenching scenes from the families affected by the tornadoes, the romance coming from both actors, and so much more.
I would rate “Twisters” a 5 out of 5. I am genuinely in awe of this movie. I love the romantic side of things, but it’s not too uncomfortable to watch it with my parents. I loved the fact that people were tearing up in theaters while watching the tornados tear up homes, and I really loved that I learned a thing or two about tornadoes and how to stay safe if I was ever in a situation where I had to.
“Twisters” uses its impressive effects, facts, and outstanding actors, offering an exciting movie experience for all ages. This was all possible by using jet engines, gallon dump tanks, and water cannons.
Director Lee Isaac Chung shows his love for tornadoes by adding in fun facts and information about tornados without viewers even realizing. Chung explains that his first introduction to twisters was through a real life encounter with a tornado in Arkansas. According to MovieMaker, Chung remembers his father warning the family “We’re going to climb down to this low part of the ground and hide out” if the tornado comes. This should mean more to the audience because the movie is coming through someone that has been in a traumatic experience with this topic.
Another thing that makes this movie so great is that it really puts viewers in the characters shoes. It makes the audience feel as if they are in the heart of the storm with Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones. This movie is for all ages and has almost a childlike simplicity. It’s a movie where the monster is the tornado and they are trying to create a device to stop it.
Compared to other action, comedy, and romance films, this one really stands out. Chung made sure to include some serious, funny, scary, and heartwarming moments into the film to make it more attention grabbing.
This movie was very impressive compared to the 1996 “Twister” film, “Twisters” was much more mature, had better effects and was more realistic, all while still keeping that classic action movie feel. The story line was a bit different, but in my opinion, better. There was also a lot more character development in “Twisters” for example, in the beginning when Daisy Edgar-Jones drove away from the tornadoes from her traumatic experience.
In conclusion, the director having experience with a tornado, and the childlike simplicity really played a big part in forming this movie to be so enjoyable for all ages. Twisters really was a great movie, and I would definitely watch it again.
