“Art history is a huge passion of mine. I knew from my first college course, they didn’t have AP art history at my high school, but I knew for my first college course of art history that I had a love and passion for the material. So when I was in college, I got to study abroad. And I lived in Italy for a little bit and I also traveled to Germany and Switzerland and Austria, and saw all sorts of art and architecture themed around art and power. It was the trip of a lifetime and the experience of a lifetime. It was at the really fun age of 21 and with a group of other 21-year-olds, so not only was it a rich learning experience, it was a really fun social experience as well,” McLaughlin said.
