“The Mummy’s Claw,” a play by Mark Chandler, is showing Nov. 2-4.
“So far the crew has been doing a great job with getting things done efficiently but there is still a lot of work to be done before opening night,” freshman Malu Biju said.
Biju is the assistant stage manager in the theater club.
“The cast and crew work super hard to perfect the play before opening night so that everyone enjoys the show,” Biju said.
They stay after school 1-3 times a week and work on the play. The crew has many different sections.
“The crew falls into different categories, such as makeup, costumes, paint/set, stage/run, publicity, props, lights, and sound crew,” freshman Diya Naidu said.
Naidu is the Run Crew manager. They are responsible for everything that goes on backstage before, during, and after the plays every night.
“The Mummy’s Claw” is a mystery.
“It’s set in Egypt with Sir Neville Blore and Lady Eliza Blore, his wife, and it’s a story about their niece, Lucy Blore, and how they accidentally unlocked the mommy’s claw and all the havoc that comes after them,” Biju said.
Biju said she enjoys working on the play and working with others.
“The play is so exciting to work on and I can’t wait for opening night,” Biju said.
