See You at the Pole is a chance to take a moment to pray and connect with the community.
“It’s a really good way to just come together as a fellowship and just as a community,” junior Emily Krisby said.
It’s held at the school’s flagpole every fourth Wednesday of September. The Bible Club leads the event and is open to anyone interested.
“It’s not limited just to one group. There are kids from all over the campus, various churches who come out to support it,” social studies teacher and Bible Club sponsor Belle Schultz said.
See you at the Pole has been going on at Howell since about the early 2000s. However, the event itself has been around since about 1990. It began in Texas when a group of students wanted to get together and pray for their school and their friends and family.
The Bible Club carries on the tradition.
“We prayed about family, school, the nation and the world and just uplifting everyone in the school and just each other and just being bold in our faith,” Krisby said.
See you at the Pole offers those interested a chance to pray in the community.
“My expectations were that there’d be moments of non-silence, that people would keep praying and that different people would pray and be bold and just have the spirit within them,” Krisby said. “And my expectations were definitely exceeded. It felt like our community was very strong and it was very encouraging.”
