Varsity softball (22-6) has finished its first regular season with new coach, alumna Lexi Romeril.
“I feel like it’s been a pretty good season. We’re trying to figure out the groove with a new coach and new teammates, but I feel like we’ve been doing well,” senior and right fielder Lilly Murphy said.
Players said Romeril has had a positive impact on the team.
“She’s coming with a really positive energy really helps the girls a lot. Came in strong. We’re doing really good,” senior and second baseman Meghan McCutcheon said.
Now, the players prepare for the post-season. Last year, they won 2nd in the state.
“We’re coming out strong and acting like every game is a new one,” senior and first baseman Macey Nix said.
Murphy said the team is well-prepared.
“We’re putting work in every day. We’ve had weeks where we play every single day when we’re not playing, we’re practicing,” Murphy said.
Murphy said she has high hopes going into the postseason.
“We’re kind of on a winning streak. And I think we’re just we’ve finally gotten to a point where we’re in our groove, and we’re ready to face the postseason,” Murphy said.
