Police Training Takes Place at Old Union Building
The police active shooter drill training took place Nov. 7, in Union, this allows the police officers to get real life training on active shooter situations. The officers use paintball guns and smoke to simulate the situation and to practice taking down the shooter and saving students.
“I was in the classroom with the intruder and then the police officers came in and took him down, with other students in the room as well. The officers are trained to immediately take down the intruder instead of waiting for the swat team like they used to,”junior Claire Mundy said. “In a real situation it’s good to know that the officers are coming and trying to do everything they can to help.”
