Activities Department celebrates National Girls & Women in Sports Day
The Activities Department celebrated National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Feb. 2, by sharing what female student-athletes enjoy about being part of the Viking programs and the Howell Family.
“The environment created at Howell with sports is amazing. I enjoy all the support our community gives when we are in season. The thrill I get when I step on the field or mat is the best feeling ever. Being a female athlete at Howell is truly the best,” senior Katt Mossinghoff said.
At Howell, over 53% of activity-participants are female.
“The best part about female athletes is the strength not only physically, but mentally these young women showcase,” lacrosse coach Lauren Ginn said. “They are able to push themselves to succeed in various ways. Howell offers a variety of female sports which has given these athletes the opportunity to shine light on the exceptional power and abilities females are capable of.”
