With the 2021 year coming to an end, Spotify has released its annual “Spotify Wrapped” feature, Dec. 1, as an early present to its listeners. Available to both premium and free users, Spotify Wrapped provides a new look into the year’s listening trends.

Beginning in Dec. 2016, Spotify Wrapped has gained traction as an insight to the favorite albums according to stream count, the top five streamed songs, and more.

“My top streamed song for 2021 was ‘Martin & Gina’ by Polo G,” senior Patrick Kehoe said.

Spotify Wrapped includes features such as what percentage of listeners users ranked based on the amount of minutes streamed, where fans ranked among listeners of certain artists, a new addition “Audia Aura” that mimicked a user’s most listened to genre and tone.

“My top artist was Juice WRLD,” senior Andrew Brakensiek said. ”I think it’s cool that it shows you who you liked and helps you realize how your music has changed throughout the year.”
