Are All Hallmark Movies the Same?

Hallmark Christmas movies started airing Oct. 31 and goes to Dec. 29. However, a lot of people do not like celebrating Christmas before Thanksgiving. I loved how the movies started airing early because I was already listening to Christmas songs.

When thinking about the different types of Hallmark movies, there are a few common themes: it is snowing,in a city, has Christmas magic, and someone is always getting married at the end. I understand how many people wouldn’t like this because it is like watching the same thing over again, multiple times. However, I love sitting on the couch with family or friends and just watching several Hallmark movies especially because there is not a lot of things to do when it is cold out.

That said, I would like to see a little more diversity in the cast within the movies. I think that it would be really cool if they have different types of religions celebrating their holidays, especially because most of the movies I have watched are set around Christmas. Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Las Posadas or Las Posadas are all different traditions and holidays around the same time. I still love Hallmark Movies even though they are cheesy and all the same.

When looking at the cast closely, I have noticed that there is not a lot of well known actors throughout the movies. There are a few actors that I have noticed like Candace Cameron Bure. She played DJ from Full House and has been in multiple Hallmark Christmas Movies like A Christmas Detour, Moonlight and Mistletoe, Christmas Under Wraps, and many more. When looking through the different Christmas movies, I noticed Lacey Chabert from Mean Girls. She played Gretchen and she has been A Royal Christmas, Family for Christmas, The Sweetest Christmas, and many more. I love seeing actors from my childhood  movies and shows.
