Many tuned in Sunday Aug. 20,  to watch J’den Cox from USA, wrestle Reineris Salas Perez, from Cuba. J’den Cox won bronze.

Cox won by withdrawal. When Cox wasn’t rewarded points he clearly won, a video review was called for. After reviewing, refs awarded Cox with two points instead of one.

Seeing Cox was awarded the two points, Perez did not want to return to the match. Since Perez did not finish the match, Cox won.

Cox is from Missouri, and attends University of Missouri where he wrestles. He is one of 10 Olympic contenders from Missouri, and is ranked 9 in the United World Wrestling Freestyle Rankings.
