How to Ensure a Better Night’s Sleep

During the school week, it is extremely easy to fall into the habit of staying up late, either to finish homework or binge watch Netflix. Staying up late on electronics makes it harder for people to fall asleep after staring at a screen for so long. This causes one to become sleepy and drowsy for school the next morning. Here is a list of ideas of things to do before bed to ensure a good night’s sleep:

 

  1. Start homework sooner: This may be easier said than done, but can help a ton in the long run. If one isn’t busy with other things, it’s a good idea to finish homework in the early evening so one has time to relax.
  2. Read a book: To unwind, pick up an interesting book. It is one of the best things to do to tire oneself.
  3. Do a yoga sequence: Yoga is known for its relaxing qualities. It is also important to stretch oneself out before bed as well.
  4. Make a to-do list for the next day: This will help organize one’s thoughts so one can fall asleep with a clear head.
  5. Set out an outfit for the next day: This will help reduce time in the morning so one can sleep in a bit.
