Friday, Oct. 14, varsity softball secured a 2-0 win against Troy in the district championship. The team is one win away from advancing to the Final Four. The team plays Howell North in the state quarterfinals Wednesday, Oct. 19.

“Winning districts was something that I have dreamed of ever since I got into this program. The experience last year made not only me but everyone on the team want it more. That entire day leading up to the game, I was nervous. Once I showed up to the field I told one of the girls that we are 100% winning,” Junior Meghan McCutcheon said.

They beat the school record with 15 consecutive wins and 26 wins for the season. The team is shooting for a win to play in the Final Four, which will be the fourth time in school history.

“It feels really awesome. I’m so proud of how much our team has accomplished this season. I’m so excited to see how much further we could go,” Maddie Illingworth said.
