“Centuries” by Fall Out Boy

Pop rock songs are not for everyone, and Fall Out Boy is known for a pop punk style of music. Released Sept. 9, the Fall Out Boy’s new song “Centuries” is a little different from their usual style. It is certainly made a lasting impression on the public, with its loud and easy simple lyrics.

“Centuries” has been added to the list of eight songs the school plays during passing period. Not only did the school approve the song, but it even had the honor to be served as the official anthem of ESPN’s 2014 College Football Playoff Coverage. That was a big promote for the Fall Out Boys sixth album.

“Some legends are told; Some turn to dust or to gold,” are lyrics that have come true, because the song has definitely turned into gold and not dust, staying in the top 40 on the iTunes chart from Sept. 9-Nov. 20.

Fall Out Boy wanted to empower people who are a little weird to be weird. “But you will remember me; Remember me for Centuries” says people will remember you for being unique.

On a scale of 1-5, I would have to give “Centuries” a strong 4.5. This pop rock style of song is a what the Fall Out Boy are known for.
